Service Provided: New Roof Installation

CPM Trades recently completed a full new roof installation for a residential property in Shirley. The existing tiled roof had reached the stage where a complete replacement was the most suitable option, giving the property a fresh roofing system and a much-improved overall appearance.

The project was completed over a period of two weeks, with the work covering the main house roof and adjoining garage section.

Preparing the Existing Roof

Before the new roof could be installed, scaffolding was erected around the property to provide safe access to the different roof areas.

The existing tiles and roof covering were then carefully stripped back, exposing the underlying timber structure. Removing the old materials gave our team clear access to the roof and allowed the new system to be installed correctly from the underlying structure upwards.

With the old covering removed, the different roof sections could then be prepared ready for the new installation.

New Roofing Membrane and Battens

A new breathable roofing membrane was installed across the prepared roof areas, helping to create an important protective layer beneath the finished tiles.

New timber battens were then fitted over the membrane at the required spacing, providing the fixing points for the replacement roof tiles.

This preparation stage is an essential part of a complete roof installation, creating the foundation for the finished tiled covering.

Installing the New Roof Tiles

Once the membrane and battens were in place, installation of the new roof tiles could begin.

The tiles were laid systematically across the different pitches of the property, gradually transforming the appearance of the house as the project progressed. Particular attention was given to the roof lines, hips, ridges and junctions to create a tidy and consistent finish throughout.

The garage roof was also incorporated into the project so that the entire property benefited from a coordinated appearance.

Completed New Roof in Shirley

After two weeks of work, the new roof installation was completed, leaving the Shirley property with a clean and attractive tiled finish.

The finished roof has considerably refreshed the exterior of the property while providing the homeowner with a completely renewed roofing system.

This project is also a good example of the difference a full roof replacement can make. The photographs taken throughout the work show the progression from the original weathered roof, through the stripping and preparation stages, to the completed installation.

If your roof is showing signs of deterioration or you are considering a complete replacement, CPM Trades can assess the condition of your roof and recommend the most appropriate solution for your property.
